BCU & DMU students collaborate to produce investigative story
Birmingham City University and De Montfort University collaborated together to produce investigative stories. We were all split up into teams and then assigned stories to research, find interviewee leads, and then produce a news package with b-roll footage along with interview clips.
My team was assigned to a story on the problem with air pollution in the Leicester and Birmingham areas. We began by researching and making many phone calls to find interviewees. The next day we began filming b-roll and interviews. The following day our producer edited the video, while the rest of the team and I produced and uploaded the social media content to Facebook and Twitter, as well as the online article I wrote for our assignment. We were successfully able to produce the news package by the deadline.
