My Birmingham City University colleagues and I put together a Homeless Sleep-out documentary. For the Big Birmingham Sleep-out documentary, I took on the role of Assistant manager, reporter, social media manager, and video editor. My roles included: assisted with coordinating and conducting interviews before and during the event with my team, utilised my mobile journalism tools to update social media platforms on what was happening at the event, and then gathered all of the video footage that was shot and collaborated with a colleague of mine to edit and produce the documentary.
Documentary Featured above: My colleague and I put together for one of our television news day. She and I both edited the video using Final Cut Pro – she wrote the script and I recorded the voiceover. This video demonstrates, from a news angle, what all went into making a night like this possible.
